Tom M Aug 31 A wonder of time and patience. Beautifully put together, this animated film expertly portrays emotion, comedy and slight erotica by means of shadow puppets. I saw it with a live score which only enhanced the magic. See more Nik F @nikfort Feb 4 Really beautiful to watch! The silhouettes are so intricately cut, and there’s such grace to the design. It’s definitely fantastical. The plot got a little dull at times, with one kidnapped damsel in distress after another. And the whole reason one of them wasn’t able to escape is because Prince Achmed took a magical item that belonged to her. The witch is really the hero, and the fight scenes versus the demons were fun to see. Overall highly recommend, just know that the plot hasn’t aged terribly well. This one certainly deserves to be on the list for its originality, art, design and story. It's a brilliant stop action movie that is very memorable. The Adventures of Prince Achmed isn't just a milestone, it is also a unique and stunning achievement that has stood the test of time. The silhouette animation is superb and holds up very well, and the music gives such a sweeping and magical feel to the proceedings. All the characters are engaging, not just the lead characters but also the timeless assortment of monsters and the like, and the story is so engaging, charming and elegant any worries of predictability completely fade.
