The delusional Don Quixote (Feodor Chaliapin) sets out on a noble quest with his trusty attendant Sancho Panza (George Robey) to seek adventure and defend the helpless against the giants, all in the name of chivalry. Along the way he encounters various people and places, mistaking them for something more valiant than they really are, as he's read a few too many books in his lifetime. While Sancho struggles to keep his master safe, Don Quixote's niece (Sidney Fox) plots to return him safely home.

Audience Member The earliest Don Quixote sound film versions to date, this film is rather dull and awkwardly includes some half hearted musical numbers. Its production values too are cheap and low, and the only thing that saves this film is its final scene where the hero famously attacks windmills. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A hillarious Adaption of the Cult Book by G.W. Pabst that's Total Tragic Comedy about a Mad Man who thinks he is a Knight and fight against Windmills and everybody laughin over him this Tale stands for some many Men who gone that Way and fighting their Windmills all their Life Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
