Audience Member My favorite version, true to the classic story, with a wonderful cast. We re-watch it every year. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Chris P This is my favorite adaptation. As a family tradition every Christmas we would watch this movie. To this day it still doesn't get old. I appreciate the 1951 adaptation as it adds some light on some of the story. I reccomend both. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review James F This 1984 version is worth watching, but doesn’t hold a candle to the 1951 version of “A Christmas Carol”, with Alistair Simm as Scrooge. The entire cast on the 1951 version is more animated & alive, while the 1984 cast seems stiff & wooden, Scott is okay playing Scrooge, but Simm IS Scrooge and he explodes from his mean spirited, miserly, former self into a joyous, reborn man with a heart & soul. It’s by far my favorite version of “A Christmas Carol” and one of my all time favorite holiday movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Julian Rex M Although its emotional impact is a bit floored by shallow production values, A Christmas Carol is nonetheless a well-acted, surprisingly faithful adaptation of Dickens' timely novel. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Christopher B By far my favorite version, with George C. Scott portraying a solid, consistent and easily believable Ebenezer Scrooge. The supporting cast is excellent as well. However, it’s that magical 15 minutes of redemption at the end so beautifully exhibited by this Scrooge that makes it my favorite movie ending ever. I’ve watched this film more than 50 times over the Christmas seasons and always finish it feeling freshly inspired, wiping tears of joy from my eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Anthony C Best adaptation of A Christmas Carol! George C is Amazing as always!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/24/24 Full Review Read all reviews
