Roger Moore Movie Nation Every scene that doesn't have Rathbone booming instructions, scolding his student pickpockets or collecting their "collections" at day's end is an opportunity lost. Steve D Really different for Ginger and quite fun. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Ginger Rogers plays the young Arlette with charm in a scheme-filled Hays-Era romance comedy. Basil Rathbone has a fun turn as a professor of pick-pocketing, with Jean-Pierre Aumont starring as Arlette's love-interest, Pierre de Roche. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A very excellent, comical performance by Ginger Rogers in this movie. I particularly like the plot in this movie; its like an unusual, unique comedy version of the classic story portrayed in so many movies of a character gradually descending deeper into crime. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review kevin w Basil Rathbone runs a school where he teaches Pickpocketing: For Fun And Profit. Ginger plays a young woman who contemplates that lifestyle until she is caught (Adolphe Menjou), and then coerced into "doing a job" for him to see if his errant wife is cheating. Jean-Pierre Aumont is the unsuspecting mark who falls for her. There are many things, you see, going on in this film. None of them successfully garner your interest though. There's just too many irons in the fire. Put this down to a great might-have-been. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie has some life when the character of Professor Aristide is around (mostly at the beginning, but then quickly fades. Even Ginger Rogers isn't enough to keep this movie interesting, and is even miscast in her role. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member the story was rather unique thou its too fairy tale still. but overall it's always lovely to see ginger rogers on screen isnt it? :) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
