Steve D Ok but Becky Sharp did it far better a few years later. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Vanity Fair is a classic story, if you prefer the book version, READ THE BOOK. THIS IS NOT THE BOOK. Myrna Loy is exceptional and very sexy. In one of the final scenes at the casino you can see her turn from her lovely self to her true deceitful self, but she makes a powerful point, true all she wants is money and status from a man, but their desires are just as base if not more so. Her life descends from there. Now I watch classic movies because they are better than almost anything offered in the last 20 years but also to observe the furniture which I collect. There were several nice views of dressers with mirrors attached. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Modern dress version of Thackeray's tale is very dated but Myrna's good.
