Impressive ambition and bravura performances from an outstanding cast help Casino pay off in spite of a familiar narrative that may strike some viewers as a safe bet for director Martin Scorsese.

Rated: 5/5 Mar 25, 2025 Full Review Adam Nayman The Ringer Without stinting on the viciousness, Scorsese still conveys an element of nostalgia in Casino, although it's less because the movie is convinced by Ace and Nicky's vision of the good old days than it is skepticism over what will eventually replace them. Nov 21, 2020 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly [Stone] seems to be trying to enter a more passionate movie, where a neurotic gold digger could at least have a good time. By the end of Casino, for all its craftsmanly bravura, you may want to join her. Brenda G Casino is not just a film about crime and betrayal; it’s a meditation on the American Dream and the destructive forces of ambition. It explores the lengths people will go to achieve wealth and power, and how those same forces inevitably lead to their downfall. Scorsese uses the rise and fall of these characters to illustrate the ultimate futility of their pursuits. The lush, bright world of Las Vegas becomes a metaphor for the emptiness of their lives, where the dazzling lights mask the inevitable darkness lurking underneath. At nearly three hours, Casino is a sprawling epic, but every minute is engrossing. The film never loses its momentum, drawing viewers into a world where loyalty is fleeting, violence is constant, and the price of greed is paid in full. It’s a masterclass in storytelling and character development, driven by unforgettable performances and Scorsese’s impeccable direction. In conclusion, Casino is a cinematic triumph—a gripping crime drama with unforgettable performances, a rich visual style, and a chilling portrayal of the excesses and pitfalls of the American Dream. Scorsese’s examination of the darker side of Las Vegas and the human condition continues to resonate, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in the genre of crime cinema. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Frans B Scorsese masterpiece. Absolute classic and must see. Everything that makes a movie epic. De Niro, Pesci, Stone, Vincent, Manca, Woods and many more upper-class actors absolutely aces their characters. Cinematography far ahead of it's time, intelligent storyline and successful capturing of all the glitz and glamour of gambling, also the ugly, sinister and slightly evil side. So well balanced. Perfect movie that deserves a perfect score. Absolutely epic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review Audience Member Didn't like it... same Italian boring stuff Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Michael D L Casino was a great movie to watch Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/25 Full Review 21 - Priyan B Gripping gangster drama. It has a different style mostly narration by the main characters is it hold you see and this movie show crime in Las Vegas not like most of the movies crime done in New York each frame is filled with light . The bad part is it's too long quite boring at some times and visual are always hurting my eyes to see in the day but it's still worth to watch . At the end Ace had is back where he was so night changes to his life at the end but this didn't even got nominated for Best picture and director atleast this movie should be recognised.
