      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Sydney Pollack's Sabrina doesn't do anything the original didn't do better, but assured direction and a cast of seasoned stars make this a pleasant enough diversion.

Trey W Greg Kinnear is underrated… Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Tyler H I wanted to like it, but I could not wait for it to be over. It's just odd, older man, younger woman.. boring.. I do not recommend. It is sinister for the first 90% of the movie and then tries to get cute. Weird plot. Like in 4th grade when we re-wrote Cinderella in different ways, except this was written by the son with mommy issues.. I'm not kissing this film shouldn't be on HBO Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Jelisije J A nice take of a princess must choose between two princes who both fall in love with her in modern times. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 02 hours: and 07 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Jace E Sabrina is quaint and pleasant. The tone of the film is nice, and I left thinking that it was a "fine" movie, though a bit bland. I would have liked more depth in Paris and a clearer perspective from the female protagonist. Harrison Ford's acting was stiff, and his reactions felt memorized rather than a give and take with the other actors. There was nothing over-the-top, inventive, or mind-blowing, and similarly there wasn't anything horrible, it was just a fine film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review farah r Fans of the 1954 film will enjoy this more modern retelling of Sabrina, even if it doesn't improve or surpass the original. Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn are a tough act to follow no matter how good Ford and Ormand's chemistry is. The pace felt slower than it needed to be and some changes were unnecessary, but it remains a charming romance nonetheless. Geoff Brown Times (UK) Even 40 years ago the material was none too sparkling, though Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden made it appear so. The present cast are in no position to manufacture fizz. Dec 20, 2023 Full Review Hugo Davenport Daily Telegraph (UK) The original was titled Sabrina Fair: now meet Sabrina Middling-To-Downright-Dull. Dec 20, 2023 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times The whole fairy-tale, under Sydney Pollack's direction, has lost its acidity here and ended up like a stick of rock: long, sweet and muscle-aching to consume. Dec 20, 2023 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Fans of the original won't be satisfied, but, by the end, there's no doubt Pollack achieves a sparkle to match the picture's undoubted polish. Rated: 3/5 Feb 2, 2024 Full Review Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) Sabrina is I think actually one of the most successful remakes... ever made. Rated: A- May 9, 2019 Full Review Quentin Curtis Independent on Sunday Miraculously, Pollack makes Billy Wilder's 1954 light comedy leaden, like a chef turning a meringue into a bread pudding.
