Christopher J great action movie i highly recommend it only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the first like 30 minutes is kinda boring Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Blu B The acting isn't good...Segal is just Segal for mostly worse and everyone else is just ok/forgettable. The villian isn't that good either. Music is a mess with some catchy rock in the first half and just devolves into a mess from square dancing to generic tracks in the second. The editing is terrible. The plot is just Segal arrives and things just happen with no real order and it's very messy on top of being jumpy. None of the stories really amount to anything and could be cut out all together. You literally could just jump to the end where he takes down the villian from when he arrives and it woould'nt lose much of anything for a whopping 10 minutes of plot. The climax is SOOOO underwhelming also and it feels like it fumbles even the enviormental message because of how just muddled and messy the script is. It's worth repeating none of the scenes/plot lines ever add anything to the investigation really. The cinematography isn't good either with dumb over the top action scenes, pointless scenes, and some basic camerawork that never really makes full use of it's setting. This leads to horrifcally bad pacing especially how this fumbles the climax terribly and is so underwhelming and a whole lot of nothing. Skip This. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review William D This is an okay film. I would recommend watching it once. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Ola G In the peaceful Appalachian hills of eastern Kentucky, toxins are being dumped into abandoned mines, causing environmental havoc, but the locals, mindful of their jobs and the power of the mine owners, can do nothing. EPA CID agent Jack Taggert (Steven Seagal) is sent to investigate, after a fellow agent, revealed to be Jack's friend and partner Frank Elkins, is found dead, probably not by accident. The EPA has received an anonymous letter from Jackson, Kentucky, and Taggert goes there undercover to continue his colleague's investigations... In this "environmental" action movie Steven Seagal plays an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) agent and not much is working in "Fire Down Below". The storyline doesn´t fit Steven Seagal´s limited register and his usual action persona, the acting is a bit wobbly, the scene structure is wobbly with way too many silly scenes (like when Steven Seagal plays the guitar in some sort of hoedown manner...) and the film itself is truly uneven. And that despite the fact that you have several cameos of country music performers, The Band member Levon Helm, Kris Kristofferson and Harry Dean Stanton in supporting roles that adds some sort of weight to the film. "Fire Down Below" is amongst Steven Seagal´s worst films in my book and clearly I am not the only one who thinks that. Trivia: The film was nominated for four Razzie Awards. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Personally the best Seagal film, a great cast all around. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review It is not uninteresting, but the plot is a bit boring and not that enjoyable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
