Audience Member this movie is groundbreaking! Brittany Murphy plays her character so well that you feel that you are her! And the supporting cast does a damn good job, too. This movie is a real tear-jerker. See it and you won't be disappointed! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Common Ground is three short stories about homosexuality. The first one is called A Friend Of Dorothy and stars Brittany Murphy, she plays Dorothy a young girl in the navy. Mr Roberts is the second story and is about a closet gay school teacher and a young male pupil who is about to come out and finally the last story (which was my favourite) was Amos and Andy which follows a gay son who wants acceptance from his father on the morning of his same sex wedding. All stories take place in a small American town,Homer,Connecticut. Eric Stoltz is the narrator and plays a small part in each of the stories. The acting was great and each story was very moving. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member the movie is very 'human' to me.. reminding us that we are all the same, we live on a common ground.. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Important stories to be told but the film is a bit clumsy and heavy-handed in the story-telling Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good movie, shows changes in the gay community during different time era's Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Good movie. The second story was my favorite out of the three. Each story was really nice. Aw Eric Knudsen was so cute and little. The first story was okay too. The last one was my least favorite, but it was okay. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture As well meaning, nobly intended, and skillfully played as it is (Asner is terrific, and so are the turkey-baster jokes), what Common Ground isn't is Angels in America. Feb 6, 2018 Full Review Walter Goodman New York Times At its best ''Common Ground... manages to mitigate the conventions by focusing on individuals caught between their perplexities and society's injunctions. Nov 30, 2017 Full Review Wesley Lovell Apollo Guide The film has a strong political statement with an impassioned look at the ups and downs of the gay rights movement throughout recent U.S. history.
