Audience Member It's Disney Channel's 3rd original tv movie This one they take to the extreme fresh coming off the 90s in terms of professional roller skating 4 high schoolers are best friends who skate for fun then they run into X Skaters The X-Blade Skaters are professionals that get paid and get magazine photoshoots yet they don't have the best manners Both groups become rivals so when the main group member, Andy finds out his family is in financial strains he thinks about trying out as a professional X-Blade Skater for the prize money But Andy has to keep it to himself Surprisingly this DCOM addresses gender and race issues next to having some impressive skating stunts The father even gives some nice sound advice It's good to have a sports film saying don't let others define you and skating should be a passion and not just for profit Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/29/23 Full Review cees t Formulaic drama but makes '90s inline skating look cool. 6.5/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Ah yes thrilling movie that started the trend of sports based movies to come from Disney Channel really brought in a slew of real world elements that makes you reminisce on those moments in your own life, while this aspect of the movie keeps you engaged, it barely outweighs the weak story beats, pasting and character depth in the adult characters especially when the adults are required to move along development of the kids that we are centered on. Nonetheless this movie is fun and really does a great job in showing the world of the sport. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Go back to Brinktown you booty bussle fruit franky. oh btw your gf is uggos Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member first thing I watched on Disney+! I loved this as a kid, and was so excited to relive it. couldn't believe how much I remembered. love this movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/14/19 Full Review Audience Member Andy Brink Brinker and his band of misfits bring that pure 90's ska nostalgia to a full boil. This movie brought back so many memories and really made me wish I could bust out my old inline skates and get out there. Sadly, after the nostalgia wears off I found myself actually paying attention to the film itself and it is not as amazing as I remembered it to be. I mean, it's a Disney Channel original movie so I couldn't expect too much, but I found myself laughing at some of the concepts. You don't want to be paid to skate? I thought that was the end goal? To make living doing what you love! Telling young children that you should never be paid to do what you love is a great message, but why can't we have both? I mean there are a lot of people who make a living doing what they love! Either way, I'll probably watch this movie again. Yes, the plot is crazy but it's still a reminder of a childhood I miss! Dan Comer The Ringer Brink! is a coming-of-age underdog story that succeeds through style despite featuring overly Y2K lingo and the peer-pressure tropes that were baked into every early DCOM. Apr 25, 2023 Full Review Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media Disney rollerblading movie addresses gender and race issues. Rated: 3/5 May 16, 2020 Full Review Bri Lockhart The Young Folks [A] highly enjoyable experience. Sep 11, 2019 Full Review Brian Webster Apollo Guide A standard issue wholesome teen conflict movie with a likeable protagonist and some pretty impressive inline skating action, but not a shred of anything original.
