Now they make alien movies where the aliens & extraterrestrials are aggressive , hostile & downright dangerous. A fire bug who is studying for his fireman exam is literally fireballed as A meteor falls to the earth. But it's not just any meteor. It has strange & unusual creatures living inside of it. 2 scientists are able to get some samples & pieces of the meteor. But they also get more than they bargained for. At 1st the aliens are having a hard time adapting to their new environment. they quickly evolve to somewhat human-like creatures. Then it's beware of the blob This movie is definitely a gross out science fiction comedy. There are moments of hilarity. It's like Mars attacks & meets Independence Day. The movie does have some gnarly special effects. And the aliens are imaginative looking. Director Ivan Reitman has made many memorable comedies, etc this is without a doubt one of them. Despite having a charismatic cast, the script is offensively lazy and almost all the jokes fall flat, resulting in one of those dated early 2000s disasters that should have been forgotten.
