Audience Member The idea of vampires beings persecuted in parallel experience to that of the Jews is os on the nose, as it made the side character Jewish. That could have been interesting. However the direction on this movie is appaling and hilarious at the same time. As his cried over his dead wife and daughter while being turned, the dead daughter can be seen blinking and holding back a laugh. Although the acting was just as equally dreadful, we had a good chuckle out of it and so we provided an extra star! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review miles b Love this movie. A love story. A fairy tale set in the world of big business. Great music score, too. Pitt and Hopkins at their best. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member While the Orwellian/Nazi dystopian world in which the movie is set is quite enjoyable, the extension of that theme to make the race of vampires akin to the Jews in Nazi Germany facing extermination is just too far to play the analogy. The effects and acting are sufficient, if the dialogue does not quite hold. The underlying impending war between humans and vampires is nothing unique, but the story plays. A lower ranking vampire movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A restrained film noir style political and social satire with vampires. Dated yet entertaining (and interesting) viewing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Shot in Hungary, this awesome B movie combines True Blood and Brazil. Humorous vampire noir manages to reference both the Holocaust and the NSA. Helps to be a fan of Woodbine and Bai. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting vampire-crime noir with a fine performance from Adrian Paul, it's ultimate downfall however is it's messy scrpit.
