I have it on VHS, and I've seen it quite a few times. The special effects are great for a two-parter, and the acting is as well. It can get a bit slow at some points, but it's an overall great retelling of Sir Author Conan Doyle's novel. It's a made for TV film so you can't criticise it's budget. I say this because the CGI for the dinosaurs is really bad and totally unconvincing. Peter Falk and Bob Hoskins do well in this film, but I think that's because they're naturally good actors, not because they had a good script to work with. The problem with this film is not the length, of two and a half hours, but how it's paced. For a long film like this, you'd expect a lot of depth and such, but in this everything just rushes past.
