What to Know

Critics Consensus

A grungy, disjointed, mostly brainless mess of a film, House of the Dead is nonetheless loaded with unintentional laughs.

Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com There isn't a thing of artistic value in this film. Apr 10, 2019 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Don't come looking for a story -- this is a hunt. Jan 8, 2007 Full Review Kim Newman Empire Magazine This is one of those rare films that truly manages to get by on unintentional laughs, but otherwise dreadful. Rated: 2/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Alan Jones Radio Times George A Romero's original template has now worn pretty thin so you'll either love this repetitive gore-fest for its unpretentious dumbness or hate it for being nothing more than a shameless plug for the game. Rated: 2/5 Apr 10, 2019 Full Review David Keyes Cinemaphile.org Five minutes into the picture and I felt my inner child weeping for the future of the industry. Rated: 0/4 May 14, 2017 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Cinencuentro House of the Dead is a very entertaining film, but only because it's made in a such inept and unprofessional way that it's almost impossible to believe that it was shown in cinemas. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
