This live-action film follows the adventures of Suki (Kate Winslet), a rebellious young lioness, as she tries to make her way through life in the dangerous wilds of Africa. Defiantly refusing to hunt other animals, Suki leaves her pride and joins a group of rogue lions known as the Wanderers. She falls for a dashing male named Dark (Sean Bean), then Suki clashes with ruthless Harry (John Hurt) but eventually finds her way back to her pride, hoping that it will accept her.
