Lou Lumenick New York Post Some fine performances shine through in Joe Maggio's pretentious, credulity-straining dramedy. Rated: 2/4 Mar 18, 2005 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News It's not surprising that director Joe Maggio got Hal Hartley to score his off-kilter drama. Both upend clichés through a deadpan visual style and mordant performances. As a result, both have had uneven success. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 18, 2005 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Milk and Honey is the kind of nightmare- in-a-box you might expect if Neil LaBute remade Martin Scorsese's After Hours on a shoestring. Rated: 2/5 Mar 17, 2005 Full Review Prairie Miller Long Island Press The characters each make their separate ways through Manhattan's cavernous underbelly, that is less milk and honey than a lunatic Dante's Inferno. May 28, 2007 Full Review Film Threat Rated: 3/5 Dec 6, 2005 Full Review Edward Havens FilmJerk.com Without a single redeeming character or moment that rings true, audiences will likely cheer for all the bad things that happen to this truly reprehensible couple. Audience Member Serious subject matter given a fairly well scripted treatment. The depiction of bipolar disorder was better than that in most movies and the self destructive persistence many show in going off their meds was effectively conveyed. The plot was a bit beyond belief in some aspects. On balance, a pretty decent cinematic treatment of mental illness. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member COOL u must watch it . Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Pleasantly surprising. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Didn't even finish watching--a rarity for me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member depressing with one bright side.
