See more 03/29/2009 This modern Japanese erotic thriller is an interesting throw back to the violent pinku eiga films of earlier decades, but with that rich, glossy film quality that makes it much more visually captivating, complete with some beautiful and startling imagery. The sex scenes range from disturbing to sexy, with plenty of overlap, and if you don’t see how that's possible then you can probably skip this one, unless you're curious. The story was also intriguing enough to hold my interest, and although the psychology of the characters may not be deep, it's there nonetheless, helped along by solid acting. This is pretty impressive for an artsy exploitation film, but that's why I felt so let down by the perplexing and poorly written twist at the end, which was completely unnecessary.
