Jonathan Romney Independent on Sunday If there's anything worse than a film with no point, it's one that's all point and nothing but. Feb 28, 2018 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Instead of heartwarming messages about forgiveness, it honours ambiguity and brings us close, closer than is comfortable, in fact, to what Americans today are really thinking about one another. Feb 23, 2015 Full Review Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic [Crash] is familiar enough that it slips easily into our film-watching faculty without any fuss, yet [Haggis'] handling of it -- his muscular belief in what he is doing -- makes us hope that his next screenplay will be a bit less safe. Feb 23, 2015 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy The weakest of all five Best Picture Oscar nominees (not just Brokeback Mountain) for 2005, it's still a relevant movie that would have been even better had Haggis eased up on the gas every once in a while. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 2, 2025 Full Review Mark Johnson Awards Daily Crash is a bit too on the nose as it addresses racial tensions without much subtlety. The score, cinematography, and acting are all pretty outstanding, but it isn’t enough to save the tone-deaf Crash from feeling extremely contrived and overbearing. Jun 27, 2023 Full Review Cody Dericks Next Best Picture Hampered by unrealistic dialogue and unpleasant characters, it delivers its portrayal of a world that needs changing in the most aggressive and obvious way possible. Roberto T I think that a lot of people were let down by the shallow sycophancy of societal ethics in extreme circumstances: I mean a lot of the reviews I read here kinda of sound that way. But, it really is a good movie. I think it deserves a watch, just dont expect it to change anything you already believe. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Ryland C Despite me liking it. I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch it. I cried hard at this film because I relate to the characters so much because of their struggles. It’s Best Picture win was deserved back then but my god. I feel feel like it’s difficult to sit through this movie without crying once. 😭 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/06/25 Full Review Leo P We are all victims of circumstance. I was tricked into watching this mindless, stereotype-packed moral tale because it won the best picture Oscar in 2006. But unlike the heroes of this movie, I didn't shoot anyone. To release my anger and frustration I wrote this review. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/25 Full Review Mic P Nearly unwatchable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/25 Full Review Steve R This is still the most incredible movie I have seen up to date.. I watch it every few years and I'm just amazed at how the writer and all these people put this together.. We never know what We all are going through and you have to remember that when dealing with people which is the lesson I always try to remember.. I'm extremely jealous of how they put this together. I have ideas but I just don't have the skil to explain it so succinctly and make it happen like this.. This is a masterpiece. everything right down to the song just astonishes me every time I watch it.. This is a must-watch for everybody on the planet.. We are just people and I wish we all would learn we're living in what could be an Eden If we could just have a little understanding. Great job by the director of the writers the actors... Now I sit here again deep in thought with a longing.. I love movies like this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Drew B This is a gritty and amazingly written film about how all our live are inner connected. If you've seen the cast list, you already know its brilliantly acted. The first hour starts a slow simmer and by the 2nd hour, everthing the first hour set up is at a boil. Suspense, tension, & the willingness to fearlessly face with the answers of the questions in raises. Its a must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Read all reviews
