The witty dialogue and energetic performances keep the film moving along but it never seems to break out of its constraints. Go to Full Review

Steve D 07/12/2023 Feels longer than it is because of its paper thin characters. See more j f @LiberteBurrows 07/08/2023 Tremendous! Douglas-Lancaster duo expose pathetic, english crown-polishers for the pieces of sh*t they truly are. Four more years! See more 06/09/2022 An almost perfect realization of Shaw's satirical play. Its main flaw is that it's far too short for the wealth of material that was available from the original play. The actors are cast brilliantly, especially Laurence Olivier as General Bourgoyne, a performance overflowing with wit. See more s r @ScottR 07/14/2021 Another lost flixster rating. I wanted to like this movie, but it was so poorly presented and directed that I can't. It's a shame, since it had potential. Saw it on TCM.
