Dave D Larry Kent's highest budget saw him collect together an impressive cast of young actors: Susan Sarandon, Carole Laure, Celine Bernier and recording artist Steve Fiset. The cast is supported by veterans Gerard Parkes and Paul Berval, with Quebec composer Luc Plamondon responsible for the score. Filmed just weeks prior to Quebec's October Crisis of 1970, and released virtually on the one-year anniversary, the film presented provocative themes of the Quiet Revolution, in particular, the transition from youthful expressions of liberation to the manifestation of violence . For this reason, it had a decent theatrical release in Quebec, but was a no-show in English Canada. Fiset's song "Les Laurentides" will resonate in your head for some time after the screening. Fans of Sarandon will see this early career outing (coming between her bit role in Joe and her career-making performance in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
