Anthony Stowe (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is a drug-addicted detective teetering on the edge. He shows little regard for his fellow cops, ratting out a respected veteran who takes him to task shortly before he's fired. All Stowe cares about is putting away drug-dealing former cop Callahan (Stephen Rea), who is taking over New Orleans' underworld. But Callahan's henchman (Stephen Lord) puts Stowe in a coma, and after he awakens, he realizes it's more important to redeem himself and get off drugs.

The M Jan 27 Even when we watched him in the 90s, we knew, Jean-Claude Van Don had the chops to do something great, and here he is shining as a corrupt cop in New Orleans. The main antagonist in this film as a cop or ex-cop known as Callahan, played with zest by Stephen Rea.l Everybody else is pretty good, especially, Selena Giles. The only problems are the film is constantly seen as a New Orleans production. When we cut elsewhere, the film is clearly being shot in Bulgaria, which kind of takes away from the film. It’s kind of a mixed bag, but one has to see unhinged performance for the first time of the movie. And then his guy for the second half which is kind of a letdown considering how good he was in the first half.. See more steve d 06/24/2020 fun Jean-Claude Van Damme film with some great fight scenes and interesting enough story. See more 02/26/2020 It sorta ok movie , But a bit crappy(worst then Hard Target) and not something i'd watch often. Would rather watch Timecop , Hard Target & Street Fighter more. See more 10/23/2018 Van Damme is kind of a dick in this movie but still an enjoyable Van Damme outing. See more 05/06/2017 Van Damme himself comes off very well in this movie, believably inhabiting his character throughout. However, the pacing of this film feels off and the direction a mixture of clunky, pedestrian, okay and occasionally quirky. That said, it's not a bad movie but with slightly better writing, direction and a shorter running time it could easily have been a much better one. See more 02/01/2017 The first act is moody and engaging. Then the movie loses all steam before devolving into a third act so riddled with cliches it's as if the screenwriters were copying straight from the action-movie-trope handbook, complete with a superfluous villain monologue, the damsel in distress, and a laughable Mexican standoff.
