laurie s For the Feebies (FBI) to suspect the victim is either an over-used cliche or a reflection on how useless they really are. In every film they're portrayed as morons. It has to come from somewhere. Is the training as useless as the US cops or do they just recruit idiots? The film is a very flawed story with many plot holes like, fingerprints can only be taken from clothing since 2011. Now seeing as this is set in 2007 how can they do that from Marco's body? Silly mistake. Imagine I'm a feebie and I work out how this film got made. The screenwriter is sitting on the john and is plotting. He gets up and accidentally falls over and bangs his head, thereafter thinks he's come up with a wonderful plot. It could have been at least a 3 star movie but because of the stupidity it's only down for a 2. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Good story, well acted with a real time camera feel to it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing performances by all involved. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Leguizamo is quite good in this rather confusing movie -- in parts the plot is slow, and then it moves way too quickly to make sense. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I dreaded watching this the only good part was the end Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Moderately passable. Lou Lumenick New York Post John Leguizamo knocks it out of the park as an armored car driver in The Take, which is quite a bit better than you'd expect from a low-budget thriller that's getting a token theatrical release a month ahead of its DVD debut. Rated: 3/4 Apr 11, 2008 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News Perez and Leguizamo make an entirely believable couple, and director Brad Furman creates an intense undercurrent of intimacy between the audience and his haunted hero. Rated: 3/5 Apr 11, 2008 Full Review Rachel Saltz New York Times Mr. Furman, who also directs music videos, has given the movie, shot by Lukas Ettlin, a bleached-out, unglossy look. Occasionally the visuals seem overly stylized, but Mr. Furman knows enough to showcase his stars' unvarnished performances. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 11, 2008 Full Review Peter Brunette Screen International Things never quite come together and the central plot focus of the family drama is never plausible enough to make for compelling cinema. Oct 15, 2008 Full Review Prairie Miller NewsBlaze Funny man John Leguizamo gets in touch with his furious and fiery side in The Take, and that transitional extreme mood swing is surprisingly impressive. May 19, 2008 Full Review Ron Wilkinson Monsters and Critics Indie director Brad Furman has unleashed a powerful low budget thriller that makes good use of the talents of John Leguizamo as well as those of supporting performers Tyrese Gibson and Rosie Perez.
