Audience Member Kipling helps send his son (Radcliffe) to WWI. It's a true-story tragedy that isn't especially dramatic - but has some really strong acting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Kinda boring I cried at the end though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Rudyard Kipling's boy goes to war. It doesn't go well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Very well made movie of a touching story. well directed and enacted. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I was very impressed with this movie! David Haig gave an excellent portrayal of Kipling in the era of war glory for king and country. Radcliff gave an outstanding performance and proved that he could work outside the Potter mold. All 4 chief actors gave an awesome performance. I highly recommend it! Hermione Eyre Independent (UK) I cried. We all cried, I don't doubt. Not a dry eye in any house. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Thomas Sutcliffe Independent (UK) He'd captured, too, the torture of hope that Jack's parents found themselves exposed to - the word"Missing"on the telegram sending them scouring through photographs of prisoners of war to see if their son might still be alive. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Nancy Banks-Smith Guardian My Boy Jack was - I see no excuse for deceiving you, as Owen wrote to his mother - a disappointment. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Alison Graham Radio Times The real revelation, though, is Kim Cattrall as Jack's mother Carrie, a formidable woman who never gave up hope, until presented with terrible evidence to the contrary, that her son would return home. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Jarad I. Wilk CinemaBlend As for Cattrall and Radcliffe, it's one of those cases where it's a bit weird seeing them out of their normal characters... Their performances are not bad as a whole, but they are, at times, very stiff. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Charles Cassady Common Sense Media Daniel Radcliffe goes to war as Kipling's son.
