Sou muito cadelinha da Hayden Panettiere desde Heroes, ohh mulher linda, e talentosa, carinha de menina angelical e talento de mulherão, perfeita. Uma comédia adolescente, bem a cara dos anos 90, mas sem tanto sexo, drogas e escatologia, situações clichés abobadas, dá para tirar algumas risadas, varias cenas de vergonha alheia, e muitas, desnecessárias, mas tudo bem gostosinho de acompanhar. “Uma experiência feliz e previsível, leve e com piadas ousadas” como bem resumiu Rodrigo Cunha.

Denis, um nerd, é escolhido para ser o orador da sua turma. Incentivado por seu amigo, ele fala algumas verdades sobre os seus colegas e se declara para a garota mais popular do seu colégio, Beth Cooper. Ele a convida para uma festa em sua casa e, a partir daí, ele tem que fugir do namorado militar de Beth, ao mesmo tempo que vai conhecendo melhor sobre a garota que ama. O filme está recheado de clichês de outros filmes do mesmo gênero: o nerd, o valentão que faz bully, o trio de alunas populares, professores meio que não estão nem aí, entre outros. Talvez o que muda aqui é a Hayden Panettiere, que dá mais uma camada a este personagem batido de filmes de adolescentes: a chefe de torcida popular. A sua Beth não é nem um pouco rasa e monocórdica. Ela se achava presa no destino de toda aluna popular que chega no auge antes da faculdade e depois se torna apenas uma mãe de família longe dos dias de glória. Mas a declaração de amor de Denis provoca uma mudança nela. Uma sessão da tarde mas com um sorriso no rosto.
