J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Skolimowski's technique is impressive: the overlapping narratives are expertly handled, and the points of intersection can be dazzling. Apr 28, 2016 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times "11 Minutes" finds veteran Polish writer-director Jerzy Skolimowski in a decidedly experimental mood. Apr 14, 2016 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com Skolimowski ties these characters' stories so close together that you're never really sure who they are. And that's OK. Rated: 3/4 Apr 8, 2016 Full Review Giuseppe Sedia Kino Mania Skolimowski’s feature stands up as a cinematic statement from an astute artist capable of feeling young over and over again in the last decade despite a 15-year hiatus from filmmaking Perhaps [his] elixir of life is simple as a generous dose of adrenaline Rated: 3/5 Jan 21, 2025 Full Review Fernando E. Juan Lima Otroscines.com A festive and enjoyable film that proves to have a director who can seriously employ all filmmaking tools. And if there isn't one, he's smart enough to invent it. Nov 16, 2022 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Although not nearly compelling as it should be, 11 Minutes showcases a masterful auteur having fun with the craft, and while the material may feel cliché, Skolimowski has lost none of his visual prowess. Dean O A bunch of scenes that had promise, but end in a clusterf**k. No rhyme or reason to any of it. I saw a few reviews on something totally different. Live how people don't even read what they are reviewing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Billy A Threatens to become interesting but never does. A masterpiece of disappointment. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Audience Member I've just watched this movie and read a few reviews (not on this page). No one seems to see the humour. It's a funny film, it works. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing happens for the first hour then there is 2 minutes of action and the movie ends. Most boring hour and 30 minutes of my life. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Another movie trying to be edgy, smart and unique. Instead you get uninteresting, unintelligible dribble. If this was a Michael Bay film it would be 3 1/2 hours long, just as underdeveloped both in story and characters but at least the action would be better. The critics that gave this a good score are the same ones who see a pile of trash on the ground and think it's a piece of art. Those same critics are always complaining about underdeveloped characters and story lines in a horror film, action drama or comedy. This movie is none of those. It could have been a better 20 to 30 minute short film. In summation...this is a 1 1/2 hour film that should have been a 20 minute film. That should have been called 11 seconds or less because everything important happens in less than a minute. That's even if we draw it out some. I hope no one paid to see it. I'm glad I didn't. And (I know I shouldn't start a sentence with and but this movie has me in a special kind of mood), I'm truly sorry for the great acting I saw to be wasted on such a film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the movie, it had some interesting shots that I really enjoyed and they helped to build the tension. I like the way they filmed this, it's different. The ending is abrupt so I understand why it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea, but it really made me ponder how everything can change in an instant.
