Audience Member An interesting Singaporean effort, examining the human condition in the city-state whose economic prosperity doesn't quite translate into happiness for all. Khoo explores many themes in his film: the clash of old Asian values and new Western values, the isolation and displacement of migrants and natives alike, and ultimately, a sense of compassion for the lost and the ill of soul.
