Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) Attractive cast, predictable girl-lives-dream story and lots of great dancing. Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2008 Full Review Tracy Moore Common Sense Media Entertaining dance-focused romance has some mature themes. Rated: 3/5 Apr 29, 2014 Full Review Jason Di Rosso MovieTime, ABC Radio National You feel sorry for the real-life dancers on screen here... Oct 31, 2008 Full Review Annette Basile FILMINK (Australia) Doesn't have a fraction of its predecessor's pizzazz. Oct 31, 2008 Full Review Louise Keller Urban Cinefile It might be formulaic and predictable, but there's plenty of appeal in this energy-filled film about reaching for your dreams. Set in the world of dance, the story is as much about passion as it is about ballet and hip hop. Oct 28, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews

Watched it because I liked the first movie, which was loads better. Nice dance sequences, but the lead actress’ acting is cringe. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/02/24 Full Review Liam D This direct to DVD sequel has the typical dance movie formula but the sequences themselves are well done and it's better than its theatrical prequel Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review steve d The worst of the 3 but it still has a lot of charm and some strong dace numbers. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Its not terrible (dance sequences are good to great) but its also not very good (asinine story, unnecessary STEP IT UP copy) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I was a big fan of the original Center Stage so I was a little skeptical before watching this. I figured it would be really cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised. The two lead actors have great chemistry & are both amazing dancers. Kenny Wormald is amazing & he should be more well known! The one part I didn't like was that she was supposed to be a "self-trained' ballerina from watching dvd's at home. Other styles of dance I could see but not ballet. lol. That's kind of a slap in the face to ballerinas who train tirelessly for years to make it look like someone could learn to do it on their own. Very far-fetched. They should have just said she was from a small town with a teacher that's not well known or something.
