This documentary follows illegal Mexican immigrants who turn to Arizona as their portal into America while border security tightens in California and Texas. Thousands of men looking for work and increasing numbers of women and children, make their way across the desert daily. While some Americans hope to change border restrictions legally, and leave supplies scattered along the route hoping to help the immigrants, others carry arms and patrol the state line with a grimmer intent.

Lisa Kennedy Denver Post The filmmakers' point is undeniable: Two governments have deftly pitted working and hoping-to-work folk against each other to cruel effect. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 22, 2006 Full Review G. Allen Johnson San Francisco Chronicle No hour-and-a-half documentary can do much more than scratch the surface of the issue, but Mathew and DeVivo provide an excellent primer and some human faces on the front lines. Rated: 3/4 Apr 14, 2006 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Deftly sustaining many points of view, engrossing feature begins to seem overloaded only toward the end. Jan 23, 2006 Full Review Robert Denerstein Denver Rocky Mountain News Crossing Arizona doesn't propose many solutions, but it's best when it's giving us an on-the-ground feel for the people who live closest to a problem that continues to dominate the news. Rated: B Sep 22, 2006 Full Review Phil Villarreal Arizona Daily Star A penetrating, in-depth film on the ugly issue. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 20, 2006 Full Review Don R. Lewis Film Threat Everyone knows that illegal immigration is a problem, but there's really no answer to be found. Crossing Arizona does a nice job covering all sides of the issue. Audience Member Whereas the director may present a B movie quality documentary you must understand that Chris Simcox is currently sitting in Jail awaiting trial for child molestation. Watching this movie will support Chris Simcox (the child molester) through the royalties paid to this production company! *Throws rotten tomato* Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A good documentary to watch if you want to understand some of the background for the recent Arizona immigration law. It shows more of the American perspective on illegal immigration across the southern border. However, take this film with a grain of salt. It has a rather liberal bias and I don't think it fairly portrays the conservative argument all that well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Great documentary. Tackles a very controversial issue and shows both sides of the spectrum. I caught an exclusive screening at my college, trust me, if you are into politics or are just looking for something just to watch, I reccomend this film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A fairly decent documentary that does a good job of covering almost all the major issues with border crossing and immigration between the United States and Mexico. While it was quite obvious that it was shot on a low budget, the message is there and it's great to hear the opinions of people living right next to the border. Great points are brought up, both for and against immigration, but above all it does justice to the humanitarian side of the issue. I'm glad there are people out there helping the illegal immigrants live in the desert. While I would rather have legislation that makes it easier for immigrants to safely find work in the United States, there is no reason why people should have to die trying to cross here illegally. It's truly a very sad and complex problem and it desperately needs addressing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member good. cannot say much though because of the issue Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/29/08 Full Review Audience Member Great depiction of the migrant problem. Shows all sides of the argument. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
