This documentary follows the astonishing five-decade marriage of Carmen De Lavallade and Geoffrey Holder and focuses on their careers as dancers, actors, choreographers and more. Packed with archival material depicting the artists at work, including clips from the 1950s and 1960s, in addition to footage of their contemporary projects, the film stands as evidence that Carmen and Geoffrey's greatest accomplishment is their balance of passion -- for their art and for each another.

Audience Member It's a very important artifact and should be seen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a loving documentary of a loving, talented and lovely couple. Fabulous dancers, artists and married for 50+ years. Great portrait of living an artistic life and in partnership with another.... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member As someone not particularly well versed in modern dance, it wasn't natural interest that got me to watch this movie. However, as someone that is always interested in learning about new things, it certainly qualified. I'd never heard of Carmen de Lavallade, and I only knew Geoffrey Holder as one of the bad guys in "Live and Let Die" and Punjab in "Annie". Who knew they were so wildly successful? Well, I'm guessing a lot of people knew, I just wasn't one of them. I am now. The movie was interesting, especially if you knew nothing about their story. I don't think it's going to make me seek out any modern dance recitals, but it broadened my horizons a little, and got me to appreciate some things I might not have otherwise. For me, that's a good night. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
