What to Know

Critics Consensus

Stuffed with characters and overly reliant on uninspired dialogue, Eclipse won't win The Twilight Saga many new converts, despite an improved blend of romance and action fantasy.

Alex Vega Autostraddle I wanted "terrible/AWESOME" and all we got was painfully terrible. I am upset. Jul 13, 2021 Full Review Sarah Medd Autostraddle I blame the music for at least half of my naps tonight. Jul 13, 2021 Full Review Laneia Autostraddle Eclipse made me stabby when I read it... the movie version was only mildly less stupid. Jul 13, 2021 Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast It's better than New Moon (because something actually happens), but both Jacob and Edward are insufferable and Bella's decision to become a vampire remains irrational. Janky FX, not enough Dallas Howard and bad wigs sink the ship. Rich S If only this were the last in the series ... it would have ended on about as much of a high note as possible. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review lacey it's a good show that's why I like it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Charles C A very forgettable film in the twilight saga that builds up to an epic battle that ended up being quite lame. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review Spencer P Despite an improved pace, clearer stakes, and visual effects, this series' insistency on keeping the same three leads with their same mountains of flaws does not make it any more pleasing to watch, though the laughable logic might. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Chris M Evil vampiress Victoria is creating an army of newly turned vampires to attack the town to kill Bella. These movies are so forgettable I honestly don't remember why. It's probably because of she's jealous and thinks killing her with get Edward back. Also, these movies have everything phase of the moon except the one connected to Jacob, the "werewolf". And since the only affect sunlight has on vampires here is turn them into walking disco balls, break dawn has no meaning. None of the titles have no connection to the stories at all. Like if Victoria was planning on attacking during an eclipse because the werewolves would lose their power to transform, that would have make sense. But considering my grandmother knew more about vampires than Stephenie Meyer does. All we get is this romantic dribble pretending to be Werewolves and vampires. But this is at least a tiny bit better than the last one, but not by much. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review James E Probably the best in the twilight franchise and a solid entry in the vampire movie community. Some of the characters and dialogue are still just as hard to watch, but the entertainment value is present and the action is fun. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Read all reviews
