Blissfully married Lars (Mikael Persbrandt) and Susanna (Lena Endre) invite their longtime, also-married friends Ulf (Jakob Eklund) and Ann (Maria Lundqvist) over for an evening of dinner and conversation. The topic of discussion soon turns to one of Lars' co-workers, a man who recently ended his marriage to be with a younger woman. Tensions mount when the couples become passionately split in their opinions on the matter, leading to a crisis of friendship and marriage.

Jeremy Heilman MovieMartyr.com What initially seems too blunt and too neatly constructed develops considerable texture as this particularly concise film unspools. Rated: 61/100 Aug 11, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews

:-) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Four of the best Swedish actors in a great movie that is all about the dialogue and interhuman interaction and basicly only plays in the dining room, bedroom and kitchen Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member hmph. nothing much happened although it seemed that a lot happened in the persons' relationships. sigh. was expecting more.... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A good promise, deceives halfway through. Still better than Hollywood crap. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked this film about two couples that have grown tired of each other. The film does a good job of showing how one conversation can change a person's life. I liked how the topic of having children was approached. The ending is realistic, but I hoped it would go another way.
