Audience Member This film p***ed me off with it's phony characters that are overly cliched, and the actions they make that are so unfair and have no consequences made for them that make them more unfair. The film is easily predictable and should not be watched more then once. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie was ehhhhhh.........but I love Sam Huntington!!!!!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm a fan of Sam Huntington, and Caroline Goodall is quite a force, so I thought I'd check this out. Given those two great talents, though, I felt a lot of the performances were really hammed up toward the beginning of the film. In all of Huntington's other roles, he seems like such a good guy, and never really plays "the bad boy," so perhaps he had some trouble adjusting to that mentality. Hard to say. While Goodall is normally very impressive, it almost felt like her character was only given one thing to do...and she really went into that. To be honest, what was most interesting to me about this movie was the advice Barry Corbin's character had to give Huntington's. Really, that was the highlight of the entire film. There were some comedic bits of Huntington acclimating to the wilderness, but I was expecting this. His character's growth is even abridged a little...basically, in a montage of mishaps, we see him suddenly become proficient in navigating through rapids...which is our sign that he's good at everything else. Though it was nice to see him finally standing up to someone, we never see him apply that to his previous life like with the bullies at school. There was never any justice or closure for that. It was an interesting story - and I'm sure was somewhat based on some poor kid's actual experience (though probably minus the drug dealers) - that was slightly overacted...but still enjoyable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A real nice family movie. Fun clean, good story Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Cast: Sam Huntington, Barry Corbin, Caroline Goodall, Charles Robinson, Amanda Brooks, Clint Howard, Greg Siff, Charles Durning, William Katt, Mona Lee Fultz, Rudolf Martin, Eduardo Ortiz Director: William Kat Summary: When 17-year-old Clay (Sam Huntington), grandson of Sheriff Buster Watkins (Barry Corbin), goes into a downward spiral after his father's death -- making trouble at school and committing petty crimes -- the lawman decides it's time for some tough love. Given the option of jail time or a 60-mile wilderness trek, Clay chooses the latter but may come to regret it when he encounters more than a few surprises along the way. My Thoughts: "This felt like a made for t.v. movie. The acting left something to be desired. Sam Huntington did a great job with what little he had to work with. The script was just awful. The worse acting came from the two who play the 'bad guys' in this film. The film is filled with bad acting, bad music, and an awful script. The two stars is for the little bit of humor it had, and from the acting of Sam Huntington, Charles Durning, Caroline Goodall, and Barry Corbin. They all did good considering what they had to work with. If you can get past all of that, you might be able to recognize the message this movie is trying to send. But maybe not." Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member the filmmaking is a little rough and even makes it hard to follow the story at some points, but it's a cute story. I'd forgotten how good looking everyone is in the South. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
