jwb How did this movie ever get labeled as a thriller? I must have fallen asleep during those thriller sequences. In other words, there are no thrilling parts, no suspenseful parts and not a mystery to be found. The movie is nothing more than a boring rendition of a Panamanian travelogue with some repulsive violence near the end. If you're interested in seeing the lead, Matthew Leitch, in various states of undress or nakedness, then the movie does provide that. Otherwise, good luck at finding anything else in the movie that's worth the wasting of your time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/30/22 Full Review Audience Member An adventurous travelogue through the eyes of journalist/ tourist Brian. Highly recommended. This film has many unexpected twist and turns. At first, it seems like a documentary selling Panama as a tourist destination. but it goes far beyond that as the story evolves. Don't wanna give too much away because giving too much would spoil it for u. The message of this docu film should not be taken for granted. Educate yourself and know the culture you are about to visit. Matthew Leitch does a fantastic portrayal of the very socially inept Brian while Ameer's direction is fluid and gripping. This director is definitely evolving and I look forward to seeing many more fresh, original stories coming from him. One of my favorite scenes were of Carnaval Las Tablas. A well crafted festival of color, culture and tradition. This film made we want to start making my reservations for next year. Raw, violent and disturbing it is, but well recommended!. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member An exceptional film from Panama with a reality look. Gorgeous hunk Matthew Leitch (star of Band of Brothers) bears it all in this sizzling travelogue from indie edgy filmmaker Jorge Ameer. Leitch plays Brian, an online journalist who travels to Panama for the infamous carnaval of Las Tablas. In the joys of partying, he find himself in a situation of peril, violence and desperation. I saw this in theatres in Los Angeles and now own the DVD. There is a masturbation scene in the directors cut that is simply amazing!!!! this alone is worth the price of purchase of the DVD!!! check out the trailer - link below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwshbZJHhdE Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
