Greg Quill Toronto Star Subsumed in Canada's vast landscape, Ben finds ephemeral distraction and occasional edification, but not much in the way of great epiphanies. Johnson Maclean's Magazine Joshua Jackson makes a likeable and [convincing] a turns in a strong performance as a man who has a premature mid-life crisis when he learns he's dying of cancer. But I wish I could feel the same affection for the script. Jan 2, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com A philosophical road move with a serious hard-on for all things Canada, the feature is a patchy but satisfying ride to self-actualization. Rated: B Mar 27, 2011 Full Review Jim Slotek Jam! Movies Despite its morbid plot underpinnings, One Week is less depressing than the average Canadian movie. Maybe it's because you can never feel more alive than when you see this country in all its glory. Rated: 3/5 Mar 6, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

Guy B Decent story and a sign of 2008 flip phones, handheld cameras and a film that stands shoulder to shoulder with all the modest and well-conceived Canadian films that came before it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Barbara P A poetry, but real ! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/24 Full Review F W Just rewatched 1 Week after seeing it for the first time several years ago. Beautiful Norton, great road trip movie. Holds up well after all these years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review dave s One Week is unabashedly proud to be Canadian as it follows the story of a young man travelling close to 5,000 kilometers by motorcycle from Toronto to Tofino, British Columbia after receiving the devastating diagnosis that he is suffering from stage four cancer. Nothing can be more Canadian than a film filled with, among other things, nods to Tim Hortons' coffee, Terry Fox, the Stanley Cup, Canadian Tire, the Northern Lights and topped off with an appearance by the late Gord Downey. The movie is hindered by an annoying and unnecessary narrator, as well as too many flashbacks and odd cutaways, but it is worth watching for the beautiful cinematography and the moving story, filled with meaningful insights and touching observations. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Wonderful thoughtful movie, a must watch Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I really loved it. Great acting and since I moved from Toronto to British Columbia myself, I enjoyed seeing a lot of similar sites that I had along the way. Very heartwarming at times funny and wonderful movie.
