Adam Lee Davies Little White Lies A tight, energetic documentary. Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Dave Calhoun Time Out Zippy enough, if a little meandering, and spends equal time on the man and the myth. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Film-makers Trisha Ziff and Luis Lopez ask how and why the wisdom of the crowd decided that this image should not merely be a badge of youth radicalism, but an icon of purity. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Sarah Manvel Critic's Notebook Everyone knows the image this film is about... A movie about a picture is slightly unusual, and regrettably nowhere near as memorable as the original image. Aug 9, 2018 Full Review Ian Buckwalter DCist A history of Guevara that not only succeeds in avoiding either blind lionization or reactionary condemnation, but that looks at him via the lens through which we most often see him: a single iconic photograph. Rated: 7/10 Jun 12, 2010 Full Review Phil Hall IdentityTheory A genuinely interesting film about a photograph that still, after 50 years, continues to haunt and intrigue us. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 11, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I have had Che tshirts. A student brought one back from Thailand. He asked me if I would wear it. I did for awhile, then I lost it, which seems appropriate. I had a Fairley Obey tshirt that was a hybrid of el Che and André the Giant. I lost that one in a flood. Yes, he executed many people. And yet his image is very important to me. This movie interviews many people, including actors like Banderas and Garcia Bernal who have played him, the daughter of the photographer who captured the most iconic image. HIstory told in images. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member interesting doc of sorts Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary was an interesting one. Learning more about the stunning and heavily used photo of Che Guevara was definitely interesting. I would recommend watching this if you've ever wanted to know a little more about the Cuban Revolution and Che's role within it, but even more so if you want to know about the story behind an iconic photo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrific film about the power of a single image. This is 'branding' and beyond. A must see though I found it a little stretched out! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Everyone's seen the image on posters, t-shirts and even bathing suits, but very few of the younger generation wearing the iconic face know who the man truly is. This film explores where this image came from and how its role in society today. Demonstrating the nativity of youth turning a revolutionary into a savior, Chevolution is a reflection of history and how the capital world warps things into what the people want. A very interesting documentary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Good documentary about the man,the myth, the legend & the photo.
