      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Tim Burton's Alice sacrifices the book's minimal narrative coherence -- and much of its heart -- but it's an undeniable visual treat.

Eye C Too much CGI, although the story I like, but nothing seems realistic in the “Wonderland Way”, if you know what I mean. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Gorptholemew T 🍀 0.6/10 I like largeness This is so cringy it’s so f$&king bad I want to kill this movie if this movie was a person I would want to kill it with full force. I would want to nuke it. I would want to stab it. I don’t wanna choke it down until I heard its last breath‘s gurgling just strangle the life out of this movie I want to feast on the blood of this movie and I want to enjoy it blast this movie into oblivion because I hate it so much. The Visual effects were So bad they should’ve gone practical but you know it’s cheaper. and Alice was unlikable and I really think this is a big certified stinker. My friend Nightenday and Anne Hathaway were the only things that got me through it. Grade F Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Luke N Watching this tripped out would be my worst nightmare. This is one of my favorite childhood movies, and I'll love it forever! I even played the videogame I'm such a fan of this peculiar Tim Burton flick haha. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review Артем Ð There are too many rules in this film, which does not correspond to the surreal world of Lewis Carroll's book. Anthony Lane New Yorker The movie badgers rather than charms, but it's rescued by Helena Bonham Carter's brisk performance as the Red Queen. Jul 26, 2021 Full Review Liza Featherstone Bitch Media Disney's is kind of a tepid liberal feminism, but that's far more badass and entertaining than no feminism at all. Dec 23, 2020 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator It's horribly generic. This is a Disney film and it feels like a Disney film, whereas I'd hoped it would feel like a Tim Burton film. Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The outcome is loud and excessive and just plain awful, reminding us that there’s more to filmmaking than art design alone. Rated: 1/4 Aug 22, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) It’s a whole lot of noise thrown together with loose hands into not much of anything. May 27, 2023 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) For almost two hours we become prisoners in a land of menacing delight. [Full review in Spanish] Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
