Forgoing nostalgia to play shamelessly to the Radio Disney generation, the upgrade is a gawky misfire, criminally monotonous from start to finish...the chemistry between the two leads seems more incestuous than romantic.

This movie was ok but no comparison to the original Ice Castles 1978. It's a very touching movie but I happen to like the original movie of 1978 much much better. Very emotional movie of friendship and young love.
