Tommy L The story line was absolutely stupid. Pointless. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Willls34 Horrible Janitor subplot Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Drew P SPOILERS AHEAD: This movie was ass. They gave no backstory to the main villain and like another poster said, they broke out with a solution that could have been figured out in the first 10 minutes if they hadn't been fighting with one another. IMO they should have leaned into the villain more. The manager already told her that he's firing her, so she has nothing to lose. Instead of her demanding the ring, let the protagonist offer the ring but refuse to give it up. After refusing, THEN she blasts them with chlorine. Instead of the hair brained "let's stab our captor" retaliation, the villain uses her chlorine to get the ring. After that, have the villain feign like she's going to let them out, but realize she could frame the pool manager for their deaths so he catches a negligence/manslaughter charge and has to go to jail like the villain. Then the villain LEAVES. None of this change of heart bullshit, let the evil character be evil. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Katya V It's fine for one viewing. The criminal lady was quite ridiculous. The ending with her made no sense. At least the two lead actresses were good. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Adrianne M This movie was not good at all. I can't understand why all the positive reviews! It was a good concept but poor execution. The whole "let's hash out our lifelong family trauma while trapped in a pool" thing was ridiculous. The "bad" woman had zero back story or info for why she did the things she did with them. Was she just enjoying torturing them? What was her prior offense? Did it lead her to torment the two girls instead of helping them? And she was worried about them being able to identify her, but they couldn't see her bc they were trapped under the pool cover! So that made no sense. The diabetic thing was weird. I get that they needed to make it more urgent that they get out of the pool before the end of the holiday weekend, instead of just having a real bad couple days trapped in there, but it also made no sense why her sister didn't know about her diagnosis for THREE YEARS. And the way they got out was cheap. They could have gotten out in like 15 minutes in that way if the plot hadn't been specifically designed to drag out the whole thing. It felt very much like the characters were written to make stupid decisions to force the story to go on for a longer time bc it could have been resolved in about 15 minutes otherwise. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/17/23 Full Review Liv I enjoyed this movie, it kept me entertained. I wasn't expecting much because it seemed clearly low-budget situational gimmick like Fall (which I couldn't get through because of terrible acting). But this one actually kept me engaged, which is hard to say these days. The 2 main lead actresses are clearly talented, at first it was a bit awkward but they really showed their skills as the movie goes on. I'm impressed with what they were able to do with this one concept. I think the villain character was a bit too cliche, she just seemed "psycho" with not much explanation. There was also times I found myself yelling at the screen because they missed some obvious ideas to get out, but oh well. Considering the budget, the (not the best) writing and the conditions the actors were in, I have really high hopes for their future careers considering how well they pulled it off.
