I am always curious about new boxing movies. It is a theme that has been done over and over again. The best ones have something new to say (with boxing almost being a secondary story). 12 Round Gun is a failure on almost every level. The acting is actually pretty good for a boxing film, but the plot idea is..just silly. The constant flashbacks is a clear clue that the editor had not choice but to use them to generate even a little emotion. Is it watchable, sure... but I have to imagine when the actors were being filmed they believed they were doing a gritty independent boxing movie when in reality is was a low budget knock off. A cornucopia of every boxing movie you have ever seen...turned down to -11.

Sam Upton's 12 Round Gun shows the potential of a new auteur on the scene. He reveals the character's inner life and issues in a gripping, riveting fashion. Made with a shoestring budget, one can only wonder what Upton as well as the cast can do with more.

I loved it!!! It's not a perfect movie but way better than mission impossible fallout. Also I could not believe this movie was written, directed and its main protagonist were all the same guy! Come on guys with a few tweaks and probably a bigger budget this could have been the next rocky. Please figure out a way to make a sequel Sam.

This movie's has something for everyone, from boxing to self growth. Thank you for this opportunity to make this correction. I believe the review is totally inaccurate, the movie was most inspiring. If you look at where the main character came from and how he evolved both physically and emotionally, you will agree. If the audience listens carefully, they will walk away with several jewels of knowledge, which has resulted in a great deal of personal growth for many in real life. I would hope that anyone who has had some of the more difficult life struggles would see this movie and be inspired to the seek the same changes in their life. The emotional growth is not fiction, but factual true life experiences by many, which has made this movie most unique. After watching this movie one has the possibility of coming away with opportunities they never thought possible. The words of knowledge are many, it will speak volumes to the aidience. This is not just a film about a fighter, although it was well done, very engaging and entertaining. Twelve Round Gun is a unique screenplay whose time has come. This is an action packed film physically with delivery by a almost incredible actor Sam Upton, who should be considered for an Academy Award not just for his amazing acting, but for this engaging screenplay which has resulted in a super movie. This is one film that should not be missed. Dianne C.
