Nov 7, 2013 Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) The excessive mind of Japanese director Takashi Miike (Audition; Ichi the Killer) throttles back the gore to deliver a disciplined, refreshingly grounded samurai action film. Aaron K Wow, one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen. Love everything Miike did for this one – avoided using CGI in favor of practical effects with all 13 actors inexperienced in sword fighting... somehow making it surprisingly realistic. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review TheSane O Too long build-up. Strange dialogs. Good fight. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Bob H Took me a little while to get my bearings with this samurai epic but it built up the action and tension nicely and concluded with some of the most sustained and intense fight scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Keen to now check out some of the director's other films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review S. C Well written characters, authentic performances and perfectly violent fighting on nicely crafted sets while everything's captured by some great cinematography. The deleted scenes should have stayed in for more closure on a particular character. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Georgan G I saw the original & liked it a lot. This version is even better, in fact, amazing. The sadistic scenes were much more gruesome, making the bad guy very evil. Watching 13 fight 200 was a bloody, glorious mess. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/23 Full Review Alain M one heck of a movie and story driven by the most amount of emotion I ever witnessed on the screen Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
