In a small Norwegian town, washed-up detective Nicholas Ramm (Reidar Sorensen) investigates the sexual assault and murder of a young, mentally disabled girl. At first he has two suspects -- brothers -- until one of them turns up dead in a river. Worse yet, the locals are uncooperative and secretive, even going so far as to slash his tires. When Ramm discovers that the girl's brother is now in danger as well, he struggles to piece the clues together in time to save the boy's life.
