This outrageously funny esports comedy follows Vivian "V" Lee (Paris Berelc), a competitive gamer whose impressive skills have landed her a college scholarship and a place on the Betas, Barrett University's male-dominated team. But when the Betas' captain Dustin (Taylor Zakhar Perez) tells V she'll never be a starting player, it's game on. Joined by her best friend Sloane (Hari Nef), and under the guidance of her coach Parker (Ruby Rose), V forms a fierce all-girl team to band together with one common goal: level up to the nationals...and take down the Betas!

Heather Hogan Autostraddle The script reads like an early draft of an Ernst Cline novel, with mile-a-minute nerd references that are meant to cover the thin ready-bake stereotypes that make up the 8-Bits. Tatiana Z Uninspired writing & bored portrayals — if one or the other had been good this movie would have been watchable. As it is, the plot is as predictable as the sun rising and the acting is painful to watch. Everyone seems bored with their characters and I don't blame them for it. I don't know if the movie was trying to bring a "girl power" message, but if it was I feel insulted by some choices of character portrayal. We are not in the 2000's anymore, and your not-at-all-subtle jokes are the product of a 10-year-old brat's mind. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/23 Full Review Andrew M I definitely recommend this movie it's funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review Rudo B It is just your average "bring it on" style underdog movie. Cool thing is it is about gaming. Had a lot of potential. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review totes s Someone decided that making a movie based on Frosk's G4-killing rant was a good idea, but much like Frosk's rant, it wasn't. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/25/22 Full Review Robert R Wasn't a bad watch, kinda funny, helps if you're into video games. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/22 Full Review Read all reviews
