Cath Clarke Guardian More like 3 percent watchable. Or 81 percent likely to give you a headache. Rated: 1/5 Sep 17, 2024 Full Review Grant Rollings The Sun (UK) It’s hard not to conclude that this script required 0.200 per cent effort. Rated: 2/5 Sep 25, 2024 Full Review Christie Cronan Common Sense Media The animation is pretty good, and the themes of acceptance, respect, and self-sacrifice are worthy, but it all gets buried in an unoriginal plot and confusing side stories. NICOL C Great action & storyline! Kept the entire family on the edge of their seats. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/24 Full Review Pavel F If you are looking for something out of mainstream, it’s definitely worth trying. I liked the first film, and I like this sequel, too. The biggest plus goes to animation, which is at a very high level and the voice cast is brilliant, I would especially like to highlight Max's performer Jennifer Saunders. I also liked the music choice, which really matched the feeling of most scenes. The story is focused more on adventure and fun rather than on deeper character developments. I am OK with that since it’s focused on children’s audience, although I would prefer more heartfelt story which in my opinion the first movie succeeded in more efficiently and I think it would fit this franchise better and make it more renown. Including Moopoo was a hit, I am sure children will love him – he is cute and funny. Some jokes might feel to be too childish, but again, I can imagine children liking them. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Audience Member I didn’t watch the previous film, but I can comment on a few specifics about this sequel: the script isn’t particularly strong, and the plot was very predictable from the beginning. It was also quite disappointing that they found the witch... purely by chance. They just got on a random bus, stumbled upon a creepy forest after a few attempts, and assumed it was the right path. I did notice that they tried to give each character distinct traits, highlighting things they like and dislike, but it felt like the movie didn’t have enough time or depth to properly explore everything it presented, which makes things confusing. This issue is worsened by the fact that the cast frequently moves from one place to another. Considering the direction the story took, I think it would have been better if they focused less on "more" and more on "less," prioritizing what truly matters. Nonetheless, I have to say that the design and animation are really good, The voice acting felt genuine, and I did laugh at various scenes. overall, i would watch this movie on a free afternoon. (Lucky am i 'cause that's what i did) Rating: 6.7/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Karl G This film took an extraordinarily long time to go nowhere, and the kids in the screening were the proof, as they got confused and then bored, chatting amongst themselves and then a few families leaving. As you'd expect, the characters and animation are great, but the plot and story are convoluted, to say the least. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Gamer S It's OK movie to watch if you want to Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Stefanie C Absolutely awful film. Even my 4 year old kept saying that's it finished let's go home all the way through. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
