Peter Debruge Variety In an unusually adult-leaning year, the traditionally kid-friendly category is well worth watching in its entirety... Mar 25, 2022 Full Review Amy Nicholson New York Times Anxiety-inducing films about heartbreak, resentment, torture and despair. Rated: B Mar 1, 2022 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle No American short made the list at all. Does that mean anything? Arguably not, beyond an opportunity for audiences to be exposed to stories with international resonances... Feb 24, 2022 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight [on Bestia] It’s a pointed rebuke of the extreme fascistic tactics employed at the time and forces audiences to realize that such situations were not isolated to dictators with whom they are familiar. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 26, 2022 Full Review Emma Stefansky Thrillist Even if you're not currently obsessed with catching up on everything nominated ahead of Oscar night, Robin Robin is a delight you shouldn't miss. Arturo Although it is not necessary for animated films to appeal to children, or children of all ages, four of five were not enjoyable for children or the four adults in my group. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox...." was OK for children and pretty but the dialogue was a string of saccharine platitudes and cliches. The others were bizarre bits of supposed creative genius. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Disappointed These were too sexual. I knew going in that they were not for kids but there is graphic sexual acts, bestiality and full frontal nudity. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/22 Full Review carol s dark, depraved and pathetic, some of the most depressing going-nowhere pieces I've ever sat through...... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/22 Full Review Ellen T Of the five shorts, three were good, one was OK, and one ("Bestia") was confusing and disturbing. We were told it was based on recent Chilean history. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/28/22 Full Review Aaron The animation was great in all of the shorts! My favorite one was "The Windshield Wiper." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/22 Full Review Audience Member It was totally inappropriate for children. It has raw language, nudity, violence, sex, and bestiality. Families with children should be denied entrance. That actually was the policy in more than one theater. Unfortunately, that was not the case in the theater in my grandkids' town. At the very least, there should have been a warning before the show started, rather than over half way through it. If three adults come with one child, and the four are suddenly told it is inappropriate for the child after that point, they are forced to make a decision about what they should do. This should NEVER have happened, and must NEVER happen again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
