When cops Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) join the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go under cover as high-school students. They trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, and set out to shut down a dangerous drug ring. But, as time goes on, Schmidt and Jenko discover that high school is nothing like it was just a few years earlier -- and, what's more, they must again confront the teenage terror and anxiety they thought they had left behind.

Tambay Obenson Shadow and Act Not that the original series was high-brow/must-see television, but I figured any remake of it in the 21st century would at least be far more ambitious than this tired bit of recycling. Aug 14, 2017 Full Review Richard Brody The New Yorker The late-eighties TV series is rebooted with jolts of sentiment, personal discovery, and wild comedy. Mar 26, 2012 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times It has a tone all its own: drunk enough to lower the inhibitions; not so drunk that it becomes unintelligible. Rated: 3/5 Mar 19, 2012 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson Let's face it. Genitalia jokes and people on drugs are funny. Cringing over homophobia and stereotypes is funny. Rated: 3/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Here’s a movie that’s aware of all its clichés, but somehow, with no limit of energy and humor, uses our awareness of these formulas as its strength. Mark J Big fan of the self deprecating, 4th wall breaking jokes thrown in. Really like the cast and the plot is good enough for what it is. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Ben N This is a comedy made by people who got the joke. This kind of derivative movie based on an old TV show can easily be predictable and boring. Instead, Ice Cube brought it all together poking fun at the premise immediately. The characters are silly, but the movie is good with breaking the 4th wall, and making fun of itself. From the other cops, the teachers, the other students, and the plot regarding the drugs; everything was dumb, but in the best kind of fun way. Overall, this is a movie I can watch every few years and laugh along with and at the whole way through. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Steven t Very funny. Loved every second! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Audience Member Definitely worth a watch supper funny movie and great cast. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review Samuel W This comedy delivers a very meta experience that happens to come from the lens of a not-so-subtle remake. The whole entire experience delivers a wacky, messed-up adventure of drugs, parties, and teenage killers. This has many celebrities to join Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, making it a very goofy, wonderful storyline. Unfortunately, it seems that the plot was only a vessel to make the comedy happen, but that’s reliance on the source material more than anything. Some jokes hit, some really missed, but it was still a great movie that didn’t let down.
