If 300 represents an evolution in 'virtual' cinema, then at the same time it tells a story that transports us back to the violent roots of western civilisation. Go to Full Review

Nearly two decades on, Zack Snyder's deeply silly historical epic/geek fever dream is easy to mock, but it's now deeply embedded in our popular culture and filmmaking aesthetic. Go to Full Review

Zack Snyder’s incredibly stylized telling of the Battle of Thermopylae gives nearly any other film on this side of the century marker an insurmountable standard to claim the title as the most mythological storytelling display in 21st-century cinema. Go to Full Review

See more AmateurFilmmaker 2 @AmateurFilmmaker Dec 27 The level simplicity and absolute spectacle of the film, dodging any real hope of historical accuracy, isn’t just hilarious at times, it’s absolutely mesmerizing. Narratively, it’s very simple stuff (Spartans fight big bad army, with a side of political drama), but between the one-liners, the stylized action, the visuals, or the super masculine energy of the whole film, you are guaranteed to be entertained. Just don’t expect a history lesson. See more Jacob S @SJ1056 Dec 7 Whatever you think of 300, you cannot deny that it made an significant impact on cinema.
