Ghosty Very cool story, artistry, and action. Very violent. Excellent comic book style movie, based on a Frank Miller graphic novel, similar style to Sin City. Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/21 Full Review GABRIEL S 300 is a movie about some wars from the Peloponnesian Wars, mainly focusing on the Battle of Thermopylae, where three hundred spartan soldiers, with a specific strategy, won against ten thousand persians. It’s an action, war and fantasy movie made in 2007 and it’s based on a comic book from the Dark Horse Comics in 1998. The story is narrated by Dilios, a spartan soldier, telling the story of Leonidas I, the leader of the army. It shows how he became the king of Sparta, by killing a wolf alone in the forest. Years later, a persian messenger, demanded redemption for the persian king Xerxes, but they threw him in a pit. Leonidas consulted the Ephors if he could war during the Carneia Festival, but the Oracle said that Sparta should honor the festival. So, Leonidas got 300 of his best soldiers disguised as bodyguards, then they went to Thermopylae for the war. So, my opinion about the movie is that it is a good movie, but if you want to watch it expecting it to be 100% based on historical facts, think again, because there is a lot of fantasy and drama to make the movie more interesting. The story is also good and shows a bit how the Old Greek Spartan everyday was. I would rate it a 8/10 movie. Every moment is absolutely incredible, the action and effects are so immersive I feel like im there at Thermopylae. Leonidas' speeches are so motivating that I feel like joining the phalanx myself.
