Audience Member Truth be told, I was not expecting much from this movie, but after watching it, I'm really glad I did. The story was compelling & what happened was so brutal, yet you end up feeling good at the end. Erik narrates it & he's a natural on camera & down to earth in telling his story. The whole thing truly moved me. It's SO crazy what he went through & how well he handled it. I'm surprised he's at all normal after all of it. Kudos to everyone involved in the making of this movie cause I couldn't stop watching...just mesmerized by not just the story, but also at the way it was told. I was impressed and have already recommended it to 3 of my friends. It's definitely worth the watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It's the personal stories of the friendships that Erik made in prison that really make this documentary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is truly a story of strength and heart. Very emotional! I think it's definitely a story anyone can relate to in hard times, most likely in a very different way. None the less, there is always a purpose to keep going and stay true to who you are. Heartwrenching with a happy ending. Must watch ?? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member It's an eye opening movie. Makes one more aware of the evil people that live on our planet, but also gives hope where there might not usually be any. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I came in knowing a lot about Erik's story and also saw the episode "Locked up Abroad" that featured this story. Wasn't sure how they could expand on it but I am glad they did. This is an amazing story or perseverance and determination. There are some funny moments in the film and there were one or two times where I genuinely got misty eyed watching this. Please do yourself a favor and watch this. It's an amazing film and I cannot think of anything negative with this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This was an amazing documentary. I don't think I have ever cried watching a documentary before...but I did with this one. Probably half the film. Talk about the rise of spirit, determination, but most of all.....INTEGRITY. To stand for your truth in the face of torture. BRILLIANT. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
