The general public sees a sports figure brought down by his gambling addiction. Reasonable baseball fans know Rose as one of the most ferociously driven players in baseball history. Perhaps one day there will be a big budget, high-quality production about the life of Pete Rose - but until then, this movie helps to recognize his amazing achievements, and a hit record that may never be broken.
