If "50 to 1" were about 15 minutes shorter, all of this might have made for a passable diversion. As it is, "50 to 1," much like Mine That Bird, flags before reaching the finish line.

I enjoyed the movie overall, and I thought it had a pretty good mix of drama and humor. But, at times the film felt disappointingly campy and pedestrian. And, of course, the script writer couldn’t stick with the true story… which I think was compelling enough in and of itself without having to add in a fictional character (i.e., Alex, the tatted vegan Goth queen). Incidentally, I felt Madilyn Deutch did a really fine job of playing that character, but her most unnecessary contribution to the film was when she prominently displayed her tight jeansed backside to the audience while riding away from the camera on the horse. I really didn’t need that in my head. Also, if you’re going to deviate into fiction, at least let’s have Chip and Alex fall in love and live happily ever after.

Engrossing, fabulous and inspiring film! Anyone who says "neigh" to that is not a true horse racing fan. I have viewed it several times and will do so again and again.

I thought the actors did a good job and the movie was very enjoyable. I totally recommend it, but I will add a caution for it did have some foul language.
