Sergio Z The perspective is skewed, the people of South Ossetia still mourn their dead for the genocide committed and the USA supported it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent in all aspects. I did not like that person Beaumgartner's depiction an thoroughly disagree with her thoughts. The movie IS based on facts, not on irrelevancies and is a mirror of what is happening now in the Ukraine with Russian forces UNDER PUTIN claiming they NEED to go in to save the local breakaway place from being destroyed, so the Russians, just LIKE in the Ukraine go in and murder and rape and plunder and this really DID happen. Real journalists who cover real events are depicted here - NOT attention seekers at all. Just go to the like of the first to cover wars' by film, WW2 and Damien Parer foot age, this is real stuff! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Lie. Lie. Lie. Pure American propaganda. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Pacing was off at some parts, but still a good film Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie reminds Rembo 3 In this movie Georgian troops do not attack civilians in Tskhinvali, instead they do their best to save life or an American journalist. Russian soldiers are dressed like Muslim terrorists but in order to make them look even more "realistic" their leader is skinhead :-) Russian troops target only civilians, churches and hospitals, rob and rape, you can even see scene where solider lute ancient micro ovens and even kids 3 wheel bicycle . Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Opening with the oft-quoted statement "The first casualty of war is truth," 5 Days of War should have heeded its own warning. Rated: 1/5 Sep 9, 2011 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times An action movie scarcely deeper than a Michael Bay extravaganza. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 1, 2011 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Harlin's film begins with the familiar adage that truth is the first casualty of war. Usually that phrase precedes an attempt to revive the patient, not bury it deeper in the rubble of propaganda. Rated: 2/4 Aug 26, 2011 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Visceral, bloody, emotional, passionate and fascinating, 5 Days of War paints yet another picture of our fractured world but this time done by a man who does it better than the rest, Renny Harlin. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Anti-Russian propaganda film. Rated: C+ Apr 8, 2017 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...an aggressively unwatchable piece of work that trivializes its searing subject matter...
